Overlooking Riverside Park, the Urban Ecology Center offers breathtaking views of the surrounding forests along the Milwaukee River. Your guests will enjoy taking a stroll in the park, exploring our award-winning, eco-friendly building, and admiring the view from our second-floor deck and tower.

Our Rental Sustainability Requirements

The Urban Ecology Center is an environmental education organization and community center. We strive to help members of each of our communities understand the importance of the natural world around us. By holding your event in our space, we are asking that you keep our mission and values in mind as you go about planning and making decisions. Our team is available at every step of the way to help assist with getting you information on what we do and don't allow in our facility and why. We also offer eco-friendly alternatives and resources for you to help you in your planning process.

By choosing the Urban Ecology Center to hold your event, you are directly supporting our mission of connecting people and cities to nature and we can't thank you enough. By following our sustainability guidelines, you are helping us in our goals of lowering the amount of waste produced in our Centers, supporting local businesses, and teaching others about how they too can make more environmentally conscious choices.

• No hidden fees! As an organization we aim for transparency. What does this mean for you? No unexpected costs or rate hikes! Our rental rates are straightforward and easy to understand.
• Amenities included in rental fee. We offer the use of our place settings and utensils, commercial-grade kitchen, AV equipment, parking lot, and furniture at no additional cost.
• We operate with the environment in mind. Our spaces integrate green building techniques that are not only functional but keep costs low (so we can then pass those savings on to you).
• Choose us and you choose to support our mission, too! Rental-generated revenue goes toward supporting our mission to provide innovative, enriching environmental education to urban youth, adults and families.

"Getting married at the Urban Ecology Center was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made! The beautiful venue offered an indoor and outdoor space for our guests right in the heart of the city. Only a 7 minute drive from downtown, guests could easily get to and from their accommodations and venue. Another added bonus of having our wedding at the UEC was the amazing staff! They were so helpful and informative when it came to wedding logistics and vendor suggestions. We also loved their environmental responsibility towards waste--it was in complete alignment with our philosophy. Overall, this was a fabulous venue choice and our guests had a great time!"
