What We Do

Sailing Maine 2022

Step back in time with the Urban Ecology Center as we explore the coast of Maine aboard the Lewis R. French, a two-masted schooner built in 1871 that is the oldest schooner in the country! We’ll meander through Penobscot Bay, exploring islands, looking for wildlife (seals, puffins, dolphins) and eating delicious food including an island lobster-bake! You will enjoy the quiet and solitude that comes with wind-powered transportation and can help with the sails, anchor or even steering the vessel. If the hard work is too much, you can always jump into the ocean for a quick cool-down (once we’re safely anchored of course).

New this year! We are adding a whale-watching cruise out of Boothbay.
