Lecture - Fighting Climate Change and Saving Wilderness in Utah - Red Rock Wilderness
(For everyone) Among the most spectacular landscapes in the world, Utah’s Red Rock Wilderness is also the largest network of undesignated wilderness remaining in the lower 48 states. Retaining such healthy ecosystems is vital to address both climate change and Earth’s accelerating loss of wildlife species. Additionally, the region is the ancestral and current homeland of several Native American tribes and contains the largest concentration of ancient cultural sites in the country.
The presenter will be Clayton Daughenbaugh who is the Organizing Director for the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, a recipient of the Sierra Club’s highest award for national volunteer leadership, and a resident of Chicago. The program will include an award-winning film in the “activist short” category succinctly called “Wild Utah”.
