Take a deeper look at the Urban Ecology Center – our mission, history, community impact, facilities and outdoor natural areas! Green Building Tour (one hour)

$100 for up to 15 people, $150 for 16-30 people (groups larger than 30 will split into two tour groups)

Our building tours are available at each of our branches and can be catered to fit your group’s interests and needs. Topics can include:

  • The story of the Urban Ecology Center
  • The History of the Park and Community
  • Sustainability & Green Architecture
  • Environmental Education as a tool for Urban Revitalization
  • What can you do here? How can you get involved?
  • Have something else in mind? Just ask!

Urban Hike Tour (one hour)

$100 for up to 15 people, $150 for 16-30 people (groups larger than 30 will split into two tour groups)

Tour our outdoor classrooms and natural areas at any of three branches to learn about the history and ecology of our waterways and the surrounding parkland. Topics can include:

  • History of the river and the city of Milwaukee
  • Natural history of native plants and wildlife
  • Land Stewardship: restoration and renewal
  • Research and Community Science at our urban field station

Multi-Branch Tour

Prices vary based on time needed and size of group

Get a full picture of the Urban Ecology Center’s impact on various communities in the Milwaukee area by visiting Riverside Park, Washington Park and/or the Menomonee Valley on the same day. Please contact us for details on pricing, transportation, and logistics.

Professional Consultation

$200/hour; ideal for groups of 4-12 people

Connect with professionals at the Urban Ecology Center to learn how to empower your organization to be a catalyst for positive change in your community via the Urban Ecology Center model. Engage directly with our department heads to ask questions and participate in hands on activities to learn how we do what we do and how you can to! Relevant departments may include:
