Navigating Climate Anxiety
Saturday, September 24
10 - 11:30 AM
Washington Park
Amidst a worsening climate crisis, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by bad news, and sharing that bad news seems an unlikely way to inspire action. How do we sustain hope for the work we are doing, as educators, parents, community advocates, and leaders? Let’s explore answers to this question together! UEC member Chris Young (Ph.D., History of Science and Technology) will share resources and lessons from his experience teaching a climate science course since 2001 that focuses on geography, economics, and politics, with new insights from a recent book by Sarah Jaquette Ray, A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety: How to Keep Your Cool on a Warming Planet, 2020.
