The same fun, hands-on, outdoor learning activities provided to our Neighborhood Environmental Education Project (NEEP) partner schools are also available to everyone in our after school programs! From nature hikes to recycled art, animal studies to science experiments, these programs keep kids engaged and entertained in their after school hours.
Take a quick look at our after-school program in the Menomonee Valley!
Mondays and Tuesdays: 4 - 5:30 pm
Ages 5 years and up
$10 ($15 for non-members) per two-month session, scholarships available
Participants in our Nature Rangers program sign up for a two month period - that's eight individual sessions - on either Mondays or Tuesdays. Educators will prepare fun and educational lesson plans for each week based on the Next Generation Science Standards to help reinforce the kids’ science education in their schools.
Nature Ranger activities will encourage exploration and inquiry through hikes, games, experiments, crafts, and more! Of course the curriculum will still be flexible for some brisk sledding after an awesome snowfall or jumping in a leaf pile on a perfect fall day.
Young Scientist Club

Our Washington Park Young Scientist Club offers students a variety of drop-in educational adventures! Kids can learn to garden and prepare their harvest, construct nature-based arts and crafts, create self-guided research projects, and enjoy the outdoors. And all along the way they'll be encouraged to get engaged, ask questions, and discover the answers.
With the varied landscape of Washington Park and the occasional off-site field trip as their backdrop, there's plenty to explore and lots to experience.
